UX innovations deployed on over 25% of all smartphones
Leo developed a series of UX innovations that have since been deployed on over 25% of all smartphones worldwide. These features introduced new, emotionally resonant ways for users to communicate and interact, and have become part of everyday communication for 1.56 billion users globally.

Strategy for Google-acquired startup
While at Daylight, Leo coached the founders of a startup innovating in the knowledge-sharing space—later acquired by Google for $50M—on how to structure user research and translate findings into actionable principles and product strategy. His guidance equipped the team with scalable research practices, helped them prioritize effectively, and demonstrated user value in ways that resonated with both investors and acquirers.

SaaS solution for a chronic condition
Leo was the principal UX designer on a SaaS platform for chronic care management, transforming clinical research and patient insights into an intuitive digital product. He defined user flows and interaction models linking clinician and patient experiences, and collaborated with an offshore development team to establish design systems and usability testing practices. The launched platform streamlined care coordination, improved data visibility, and empowered patients to better manage long-term conditions.

UX/UI for new-to-world laparoscopic system
At IDEO, Leo led UX and UI design for a next-generation sensor-based laparoscopic surgical device, collaborating closely with surgeons, engineers, and human-factors specialists to replace analog instruments with a safer, more intuitive digital workflow. He shaped how complex sensor data was visualized and used in real time, enabling clearer decision-making and reducing cognitive load during surgery. The resulting interface improved precision, streamlined setup and calibration, and set a new benchmark for usability in minimally invasive procedures.
